Donald Trump isn’t giving up on his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 general elections in the United States. POTUS is convinced that the election was somehow rigged and although it has been proven that his claims are wrong, he continues to spread his message.

He’s not stopping anytime soon and in one of his latest speeches, where he once again asked authorities to “tell the truth” to the American people, things escalated really fast and his supporters tried to break into the congress to protest the election loss to Joe Biden

Hundreds of protesters gathered in Washington this Wednesday, where they listened to Trump before breaking through police lines at the Capitol. Protesters fought police officers and more staffers in the congress, which was evacuated. Vice president Mike Pence left the building, too, being taken to a secure location.

Donald Trump’s supporters break through congress: memes and reactions

Plenty of people took to social media to discuss what is happening. As usual, memes and reactions didn’t take too long, as people try to cope with this situation the best way they can. They compared Trump to movie villains, pointing out how different law enforcement acted during these protests compared to the BLM ones a couple of months ago.

Donald Trump attacks vice president Mike Pence for not overturning the elections

Trump urged vice president Mike Pence to overturn the results of the 2020 elections, asking him at a rally earlier today to do something that Pence can’t do, not even if he wanted to.

"Hope Mike is going to do the right thing," Trump said at a rally on the Ellipse. "If Mike Pence does the right thing, we win the election."

After that, Pence issued a release expressing his decision to step out of those matters, saying he wouldn’t take any action against Joe Biden’s victory. That obviously didn’t sit well with protesters and here we have the results. Trump called out his own VP on Twitter, worsening everything.

Trump asks supporters to “stay peaceful” with law enforcement

After things were incredibly wrong, POTUS took to Twitter to ask his supporters to calm down and be “peaceful” with law enforcement since they are “on the side of our country”. It was apparently too late as protesters were going at it against police officers inside the capitol and nobody knows how this is going to end.

This was definitely something that could have been avoided. These things are never good for a country and even less for the United States. Washington, D.C., has instituted a curfew of 6 p.m. through 6 a.m. in response to this and it’s unclear how this whole situation is going to end.

Again, a lot of people gathered in D.C. and nobody knows when they will stop or how far they’re willing to go to defend Donald Trump and try to overturn the election results, although there is no evidence that the results were rigged.
