The New York Yankees entered the shortened MLB season as one of the biggest candidates to dominate and reach the World Series. Once again, however, the Bronx Bombers have been one of the biggest disappointments of the year, especially considering Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge have been out for most of the campaign.

It seems like it's always the same story with Aaron Boone's team. They make some big splash in the offseason and then their biggest stars get hurt. This season, not even Gerrit Cole has been able to live up to the expectations.

That's why it'll be huge for them to finally get their All-Star sluggers back in the lineup, as the team recently confirmed that they expect to have Stanton and Judge fully healthy at some point in this week.

Aaron Boone Expects Aaron Judge And Giancarlo Stanton Back This Week

We expect them back this week. We’ll ease them in. If we bring them back quickly, we’ll probably see them play, then [give them] a day off, then play. We’ll build them up, hopefully, by that last week [of the regular season] where they’re going three, four days in a row," Aaron Boone told MLB.com.

In the meantime, Clint Frazier has established himself as a regular part of the Yankees' lineup. His offense has always been good but his much-improved defense has been a pleasant surprise, even earning some compliments from Boone, who also raved about the chance of getting Gio Urshela and Jonathan Loaisiga back inthe lineup pretty soon:

He’s (Frazier) very much an important part of our team. I’m excited to see what he’s going to do down the stretch, and hopefully into October. As we talk about Giancarlo and Judge coming back, rightfully so, sometimes we forget how important Gio is to our team. We’re excited to get him back, and Loaisiga is an important member of our bullpen," Boone added.

The Toronto Blue Jays lead the Yankees for the second guaranteed playoff berth this season but there's still plenty of time to put together a run. Obviously, having their sluggers back in the lineup will put them in a privileged position for the final stretch of the season.
