Robinson Canó of the New York Mets has been suspended for the entire 2021 MLB season after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs. This is the second time the second baseman has been suspended for the same reason after missing the 80 games in 2018.

Canó tested positive for performance-enhancing drug Stanozolol, the same substance that got him caught two years later. The New York Mets are entering a 2021 season full of new hopes and aspirations but this isn’t good for them.

The clubs released a statement showing their disappointment with Canó and his activities while sending their support to the league to keep these drugs out of the game.

"We were extremely disappointed to be informed about Robinson's suspension for violating Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program," team president Sandy Alderson said in a statement. "The violation is very unfortunate for him, the organization, our fans, and the sport. The Mets fully support MLB's efforts toward eliminating performance enhancing substances from the game."

This is the second time in two years that Canó gets caught breaking MLB’s rules and fans were ruthless with him on social media. They didn’t have any mercy for Canó and his activities, claiming he's now out of the Hall of Fame while others lamented all the talent he’s wasting for using these things.

Cano, 38, will forfeit $24 million in salary because of this suspension. The Mets could use that money to bring another second baseman in DJ LeMahieu and snatch him from the New York Yankees.

Who knows? Perhaps this suspension results in something better for the Mets. As for Canó, he won’t be seen the same way after this second scandal.
